Table Talk

Table Talk is a monthly gathering that Serving Tree loves to offer. Beginning in October 2023, Table Talk invites people to gather for brunch, some gracious conversation around a particular topic, and the opportunity to raise some funds for agencies and individuals who are "doing good well" in the community and world. At the end of 2025, over three seasons, Table Talk friends had raised a little over $6200 supporting life-giving agencies like Stanly Community Christian Ministries, World Central Kitchen, The Albemarle Adult Day Care Center,

Wreaths Across America, Backpack Food Program for area children and schools, A local Summer Tutoring Program for kids, Hurricane Helene relief through Beloved Asheville, a local Community Garden, and Homes of Hope.

Typically meeting, from 10:00 am- Noon, in the fall and spring, with a summer break, Table Talk has become a gracious means of connection with a diverse group of people, a safe space that welcomes and encourages

"the wisdom at the table," an opportunity to learn and reflect about a wide range of topics, and a place to find sincere support and community.    Table Talk meets in person in Badin Presbyterian Church's fellowship hall (153 Spruce Street, Badin, NC) unless otherwise specified.

In 2026, Table Talk will explore some Zoom options.

The cost for Table Talk is $25 with $15 going towards the agency being supported each month. However, Table Talk never wants the cost to be a deterrent, so those wishing to attend are encouraged, "If it's been one of those months, please come as Serving Tree's guest and share in the gracious fellowship of the morning.

You may learn about the latest Table Talk on our event page or by
